Role Overview

As a Consultant, the individual will lead software delivery teams and be the liaison between our client's Business Stakeholders and APG's Software Engineering Team. Working independently, the Consultant is capable of leading by role or influence, as well as fulfilling or supporting many different roles on a software development team including project manager, scrum master, business analyst, or functional analyst.


The primary responsibilities of this role include working with stakeholders to understand their business and technical requirements, build product roadmaps, making strategic recommendations to bolster our client's software investment, building and managing the product backlog, and successfully leading projects through their respective life-cycles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead an APG software engineering team, proactively managing issues and mitigating risks.

  • Serve as the functional and subject matter expert for the software we are building for our clients.

  • Root cause analysis.

  • Analysis for software specifications: user stories, acceptance criteria, process models, basic wireframes.

  • Project status reports and read-outs to clients.

  • Fast establishment as a SME for assigned technology projects.

  • Facilitate key meetings with well-planned agendas, activities, and outcomes.

  • Speak digital product development vernacular.

  • Test software as new features are built by software engineers.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Consultant wearing the hat of Product Owner, Project or Product Manager, or Business Systems Analyst.

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Ability to mentor other, more junior consultants.

  • Experience writing various forms of technical documentation (process maps, BRDs, system diagrams, user experience, application maps, test plans, user stories, etc.).

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a wide variety of information.

  • Experience leading sprint planning, review, demo, and stand-up sessions.
